'If you talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk.' On that, I think we can all agree. But does the saying hold true in reverse as well? Having walked an amount most people would categorise as excessive in recent years, it would be high time for me to start sharing my stories if so.
Stories about the wonderful places my feet have taken me to and the remarkable people I crossed paths with. Stories about adventures big and small in different parts of the world: from the desert in Jordan to the glaciers in Chile, from the mountains in Georgia to the national parks in the UK, from the Alps to the Pyrenees in France, and from the north to the south in my home country Belgium.
Why blog? Quite simply for the love of writing. I am just as fond of hiking as I am of putting words in the right order, so a blog felt like the right place to start. I look forward to sharing glimpses of my time on trail with you and I hope you will follow along!

About LienBorn and raised in Belgium, the idea of venturing out into the world has always appealed to me. After studying abroad in the USA and Italy, I worked in communications and editing for media institutes and NGOs in Palestine, Jordan and the UK.
I have always been fond of spending time in nature, but it wasn't until I section-hiked the Jordan Trail in 2018–2019 that I truly fell in love with hiking. Ever since, my feet have been magnetically drawn to trails wherever I go. After my 2020 Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) thru-hike fell through because of COVID-19, I landed back in Belgium. There, I turned my passion for hiking into a job at Grote Routepaden, a non-profit that promotes long distance hiking and cycling with the help of over 250 volunteers. In 2022, I will be attempting to thru-hike the PCT once again and hope to take you along through my blog! |
